Kuta Beach
The famous Kuta Beach is protected by a coral reef at its southern end. It is the venue of many beach games, contests and musical performances, and can get very crowded. There can be fairly strong wave and rip tides in the main beach area in front of Jalan Pantai and Jalan Melasti.
Sanur Beach
Sanur Beach features soft white sand and a lagoon that makes it an ideal family destination, good for swimming and snorkelling, with a mixture of traditional village life and tourist facilities.
Jimbaran Beach
Directly south of the airport, the crescent-shaped beach at Jimbaran is unspoilt and tranquil, and the sand is soft and golden. Although the calm water is not suitable for surfing, it is a safe haven for swimming.
Tanjung Benoa/Nusa Dua Beach
Geger Beach at Nusa Dua is sheltered by a coral reef, creating an ideal family beach, while the neighbouring Tanjung Benoa specialises in water sports. The clear water makes for excellent snorkelling and the waves on the northern and the southern part of Nusa Dua are great for surfing.
Bukit Beaches
The Bukit Peninsula boasts some of the most idyllic beaches in Bali, Balangan, Dreamland, Bingin Beach, Impossibles and Padang Padang. These beaches are hidden white sandy coves that are great for both surfers and non-surfers.
